I've been talking to Sara for about 3 months now and she has been such a big help. She's a great, active listener who is supportive and validating, and really pushes me to do the work. I know that I can message her throughout the week with any pressing concerns and she always gets back to me within a day. Our weekly chat sessions are both helpful for getting the thoughts out of my head that have been rattling around as well as helping me think of a goal or plan for the week ahead. I've made progress in these months that I know I couldn't have done alone so thank you Sara!

Hello! My name is Sara and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia. I have been working in the mental health field since 2010. I have worked with individuals experiencing a variety of issues including family conflict, depression and anxiety, stress-related issues, communication challenges, and self-esteem, to name a few.

My background is in parent education, career counseling, and disability issues. I believe that the whole person must be addressed in order to create change and that everyone can benefit from therapy. We are always learning and creating better versions of ourselves.

I would describe myself as down-to-earth and open-minded. I utilize person-centered therapeutic approaches and draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and various other modalities.

I look forward to helping you set and reach your mental health goals!

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Sara Bolton has been such a great help to me, despite the online setting of the counseling; every time I receive messages and counseling from her, I feel like my voice is heard and that I'm gaining really good insight. There's a good overwhelming feeling of support in the way she composes her messages and I always look forward to hearing from her. I'm normally not easily open to others but she's made opening up about more vulnerable topics easier~!
