Even as you come into therapy wanting to change, I understand that change can be difficult. I hold the space as a compassionate guide for my clients to rest into their own self-awareness. We collaborate to discover your authentic path to healing and wholeness. My approach is based on creating genuine interpersonal connection and cultivating mind/body/soul awareness as a way to come into more alignment with your true self. From this place, you will find more freedom of choice, feeling of purpose and sense of agency in your life.
I am a counselor licensed in the state of Illinois with thirteen years of experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression and addiction-related issues. I have a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy which allows me to help clients find a sense of calm and grounding within their mind/body/soul through mindfulness practices.
I use a holistic approach, influenced by my training in and experience with: current attachment theory, trauma-informed care, humanistic theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, Brainspotting, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness practices.
I have worked with individuals from a wide variety of cultures and understand that we all hold stories and beliefs which shape who we are. I love working with artists of all kinds, empaths, highly-sensitive people and anyone who feels misunderstood.
I look forward to working with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
