Hello! My name is Amanda! I have a Bachelor’s in Communication with emphasis on Interpersonal Communication. I have a Master’s in Counseling and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois. I also have my Illinois and Missouri School Counseling License. I have 10 years’ experience in the field.
I have worked as a counselor with children and adults who had Illinois DCFS involvement. In Missouri, I worked as an Intensive In-Home Specialist and supervisor working with families referred for services to help stabilize the family and prevent coming into state care. I have also worked as a Clinical and Case Management Supervisor for a residential program serving Illinois youth in care who are unable to maintain in a home setting due to behaviors or trauma and youth in the Juvenile Justice Center looking to transition back into the community.
As you can see, I have a wide range of experience in working with youth, adults and families. I really enjoy working with others on developing their skills, support systems and helping them through many difficult situations. I use a wide range of techniques and have also emphasized a Dialectical Behavior Therapy approach with clients. I have experience in working with individuals with anxiety, depression, self-harm / injurious behaviors, trauma / abuse, parental conflict, interpersonal relationships, life transitions, etc.
I feel a supportive and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship is the foundation to achieve your therapeutic goals. You know yourself best and I am available to help guide you through this time of need. I would love to assist you with any counseling needs that you have.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
