More about me
Years in Practice: 22
My name is Kim Sale. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC) in VA. My Bachelor's degree is from VA Tech in Psychology and my Master's Degree is from Radford University in Clinical Psychology. I have been a LPC since 1998 and have worked in a wide variety of settings. I have worked in corrections, community mental health, private practice, inpatient mental health, and emergency room. I have worked with all age groups at some point in my career. I have been working in an emergency room setting most recently doing crisis work.
I am open minded and kind hearted. I am also a good listener. I would like to work with you so that together we can talk things through and set some goals to improve your life situation and assist you in coping with life's challenges. I use a variety of approaches in counseling to include person centered, cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior therapy, and solution focused therapy. No one approach works for everyone and sometimes a mix of all approaches work best. I will do my best to tailor my approach to your situation.
The hardest part of getting help is making the first step. I applaud you for having the courage to do so. The work we do together is not always easy, but it is worth it! Success in counseling is dependent on finding a counselor that is a good fit. If you feel like I could be a good fit for you, send me a message and we can get started. I look forward to hearing from you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
