Bonnie is a wonderful therapist. She is encouraging, kind, understanding, and gives thoughtful wise advice. I struggled with self-confidence and anxiety about life decisions and she gave me the tools to return to peace and confidence. Learning to set boundaries was one of the best takeaways. I grew so much from meeting with her. Thank you, Bonnie!

More about me
Years in Practice: 23
I have 23 years of experience working in the mental health field with a wide variety of individuals and assisting them in the process of healing from past experiences and in pursuing personal goals. I have been licensed in the state of Virginia for 8 years and have provided professional counseling services in a private practice setting for 6 years. My previous experiences involve working in therapeutic day treatment, coaching college students, and working in an acute inpatient hospital setting. I have been married for 21 years and my husband and I have 3 sons (21 yrs old, and 17 year old twins). One of my sons has autism which has allowed me to have a different perspective and more empathy for parents who care for special needs children and adults. My style is personal, interactive, and informal. I have a passion for helping others understand themselves and others. Everyone desires to feel heard and understood. My goal is to provide that for my clients and to assist them in becoming the best version of themselves. I utilize a combination of Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients gain a healthier perspective on themselves, their relationships, and life in general. I look forward to working with you.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
