More about me
Licensing: M.Ed., Ed.S., LPC Years in Practice: 25 State: Georgia
I am a licensed professional counselor in Georgia with more than 20 years of experience working in public education as a counselor and encourager. I have worked with clients with a host of presenting problems, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting struggles, discovering postsecondary options , ADHD, and OCD. I have worked with people who have low self-esteem who need to rediscover their good qualities.
My counseling style is fully engaged and interactive. I am sensitive and compassionate when the situation calls for it, but I also believe I'm not doing you any service at all if I only tell you what you want to hear. Growth requires me to challenge you sometimes. I believe counseling is most effective when we work together towards solutions that make sense for you. My approach is eclectic. I love Cognitive Behavior Therapy combined with a humanistic approach focused on solutions. I hate "one size fits all" and believe each client is unique and has specific needs.
I believe it takes courage to ask for help and I respect that. I believe the world would be a better place if we all had the opportunity to sit down and talk through our life situations and develop strategies to change the things we do not like. I am happy to be the person to help you get there! I look forward to working with you.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
