Hello!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and I have been in working in the counseling field for 26 years. I graduated from Texas A&M International University with a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a minor in psychology. My passion is to help people through the difficulties they are facing in today’s world. I work people of all ages and cover issues ranging from mild depression to trauma. I provide individual, family and group therapy.
I use different theories and techniques during therapy since everyone has unique experiences and personalities; however, I strongly believe that a relationship between the therapist and client is one of the most important predictors of success in therapy. We are equal partners in the therapeutic relationship. You are the expert in your experience. You are the only one who understands your problems, issues, needs, desires and goals.
My counseling approach is to provide a safe, empathetic, accepting, and nonjudgmental environment for my clients. I use different therapeutic approaches depending on each individual client. I treat all clients with respect and dignity regardless of race, gender, age or sexual identity.
