Christina "CJ" Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over five years of experience providing counseling services to adults and children with a wide array of behavioral health disorders. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Criminal Justice & Africana Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master’s of Education in Community Counseling from Virginia State University. Christina has worked in community behavioral health since 2016 – first as a Quality Mental Health Professional at a community agency, then she transitioned over to a local jail as a mental health professional, and more recently providing supervision and completing substance abuse and mental health assessments for a community agency.
Christina is a veteran of the United States Army, having served for 8 years in the National Guard and Reserves.
Christina uses a person-centered, recovery oriented approach to help individuals achieve their self-identified goals. She is knowledgeable in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and is certified in a parent education class based on the model curriculum developed by the Supreme Court of Virginia providing support for both parents and children.
In her free time, Christina enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends, sorority sisters and family.
