Welcome! I am Shaketha Blankenship, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with advanced training in mental health and Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. I have worked with early childhood, adolescents, teens, and adults for over 24 years. My goal is to provide an environment of trust, empathy, non-judgment, and encouragement in assisting clients in meeting their goals.
I utilize an integrative theoretical approach that includes but not limited to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness Therapy. I believe clients have the strength, abilities, and skills within themselves to achieve growth and personal goals when provided the support, tools, and resources needed. I have worked with clients that present with a range of concerns that includes depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief and loss, parenting concerns, relationship challenges, trauma, abuse, and LGBTQ+ concerns. It is important for me to empower my clients, assist them in navigating life challenges, and assist them in being the best version of themselves. I am here to support you and look forward to working with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
