More about me
Licensing: LCSW Years in Practice: 3 State: New Jersey
I am a bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Clinical Social Worker with expertise in sudden life changes, including loss, grief and bereavement, palliative and end of life care. My practice is person-centered, strength-based, and trauma-informed. Most importantly, it is a SAFE ZONE for individuals of all ethnicities, abilities, religions/spiritual practices, sexual orientations, and gender identities. Multiculturalism is the guiding principle of my work. I use an eclectic approach to psychotherapy and choose interventions based on each individual’s context and particular emerging concerns.
I treat individuals affected by depression, anxiety, identity concerns, life-changing events, and systemic oppression. Life Review, Validation and Supportive therapies are central to my work.
My signature approaches include CBT, Acceptance and Commitment, Interpersonal, Healing Narrative, and Insight-Oriented therapies. I use a wide range of interventions such as Affect Regulation, Assertive Communication Skills, Behavioral Activation, Coping Skills Training, and Motivational Interviewing in the area of CBT. In addition, I incorporate spirituality and mindfulness activities. I am also an ordained Interfaith Minister, your prayers and wrestling with existential issues and the manifestations of the Divine Presence in your life, are welcome and you will be abundantly supported.
Self-esteem, self-care, and self-actualization begin with creating a personal space to focus on these pillars of a life well lived. If you are ready, let’s begin to work together: your liberation is bound up to mine!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
