More about me
Years in Practice: 3
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia with three years of experience working as a psychotherapist and nearly 10 years of experience working as a social worker with the geriatric population and end of life concerns. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, end of life issues, grief, relationship issues, and family conflicts.
My counseling style is warm and open-minded. I believe in treating each person as an individual and allowing them the space to find acceptance while helping them facilitate change as needed; I also believe that it is not my job to fix anyone, it is simply my job to listen and work with each individual to find what works for them. My approach combines humanistic, psychodynamic and mindfulness based counseling. I do believe that the key element to a successful therapeutic experience is building that connection and talking through issues with someone that provides that unconditional positive regard. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
