More about me
Years in Practice: 25
I am an LCSW with over twenty years experience treating adults with serious and persistent mental illness. I received my BSW from the College of Saint Rose in 1993. In 1998 I earned my MSW from the State University of New York at Albany and was licensed as an LCSW shortly thereafter. While I've worked with a multitude of people facing different challenges over the years, I prefer to work with adults who live with mental illness. I use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy approach in working with people who struggle with Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizoaffective Disorder among others. I use a Recovery Model approach to counseling people and believe that recovery from mental illness has to be holistic and involve every aspect of a person's life. Recovery is a journey and I feel privileged to be a part of it.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
