Sharon is extremely competent and empathetic. I was going through a rough time in my life and don’t know what I would have done without her and her expertise and being able to speak with someone. She has the ability to really get to the root of the problem and offer great suggestions to move forward. Her Christ centered approach was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend Sharon!

I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a rich background in social work spanning over 30 years. I have served in various capacities, including as a Combat Medic in the Army, an Air Force Reservist, and ultimately retiring from Active Duty Air Force as a Social Worker. Additionally, I have spent 8 years in private practice before relocating from San Antonio, Texas to the New York area to be closer to my aging family members.
Throughout my career, I have gained extensive expertise in academia, mental health, school counseling, life coaching, critical incident debriefing, and group work. My therapeutic approach is rooted in client-centered care, where I prioritize the needs and goals of my clients. I utilize a range of evidence-based techniques, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Emotional Freedom Technique (also known as Tapping).
In our sessions, I believe in fostering a collaborative environment where we work together to address the challenges you are facing. I assign homework and actively engage in dialogue to ensure progress and growth.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
