Cristina has been so wonderful to work with. She's really great at listening, friendly, very clear with honing in on what I want/need to work on, she's given me super helpful tools to practice and use, she always responds promptly to any messages I send and is truly delightful to talk with. I highly recommend Cristina!

More about me
Licensing: LMFT Years in Practice: 10 State: California
Hi! My name is Cristina Perez and I graduated with a B.A degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and completed my M.S degree in Counseling Psychology from Mount Saint Mary's College. I have been working in the counseling field since 2011 and have been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 2015. I have experience working in a variety of areas such as trauma, oppositional behaviors, anxiety, and depression. I am certified in using evidence based practices (such as PEI MAP, PEI trauma, PEI Seeking Safety, and EMDR ) that help guide the interventions that I use with my clients. I currently work with adults and children and can understand the overwhelming feelings that prevent them from reaching their full potential. The following are some of my areas of expertise: Helping people overcome depression and low self-esteem, helping others learn to deal with anxiety and stress, and finding better ways to manage anger, resentment, and conflict. In addition, I work with others to effectively handle relationship and extended family issues and help guide my clients towards creating a life filled with more purpose and meaning.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
