Way back in the ‘90s I started seeking a therapist to help me become the man I could be. After several attempts to find the right therapist I discovered Dr. Greenleaf. Visiting with Dr. Greenleaf was 2 of the best decisions I made in my life. I saw her for a while and my life improved so I stopped seeing her. Ooops, I still needed more work so I returned for more deep recovery work. There are certain tools for specific work to be done and Dr. Greenleaf knew exactly how to deal with my denial and other issues. She never once took the BS we try to feed others but saw right through it and always used the right tools for the situation. I am happily married and have told my wife wonderful stories of what this great therapist did to improve my life. My wife actually said to send the good doctor a truly heart felt thank you. Life is much better and I am having the time of my life. Thank you Dr. Greenleaf.

More about Carolyn

  • 40 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas. I've worked as psychotherapist and crisis interventionist in the Dallas Metro area since 1979. I work with clients presenting with a broad range of issues, including depression, anxiety, childhood abuse, marital and family problems, trauma and stress disorders, post-trautic adjustment disorders, and bereavement.

My counseling style is interactive and straight forward. Person-centered and cognitive behavioral theories of psychotherapy are my primary approaches to treatment. Person-centered therapy is used to build and maintain a healthy therapeutic relationship and cognitiv behavioral therapy is used to explore and expose destructive self-defeating thinking and coping behaviors. I also believe humor is the "spoonful of sugar" that helps the medicine go down.

Clients tell me I am a kind person. I appreciate that because I genuinely care about others and want to help them when I can.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Reviewed December 2022

Dr Greenleaf is professional, personable, kind and understanding. She’s helping get to the root cause, not just addressing symptoms. She’s a good listener but shares enough to develop a trust and bond as well.

Very wise, humorous, a lovely life mentor

Reviewed August 2022

Dr. Greenleaf has been extremely helpful throughout this past year in counseling. She’s helped me recognize and work through some serious traumas that happened when I was a young girl and recognize how they have effected me as an adult. I have grown in my emotional intelligence, understanding of why I act certain ways, and how to no longer associate with a younger version of myself but grow into the adult I am today. I would highly recommend her to friends seeking counseling that are willing to take a look in the mirror and work on themselves.

Reviewed July 2022

Reviewed June 2022

Very professional and wise, exceptionally humorous

Reviewed March 2022

Dr. Greenleaf has the unique ability to remain professional while simultaneously being warm and personable. Several of my friends recommended Better Help and it took me three different therapist matches to find Dr. Greenleaf. I’m so glad I persisted. Though I haven’t worked with her long, I can already tell that she’s going to play an integral part in my healing journey. I look forward to my video appointments with her and appreciate her reaching out when life gets busy and I have gone longer periods of time without scheduling appointments.
