More about me

Licensing: LCSW-C Years in Practice: 15 State: Maryland

Hello and Welcome!!

I am so excited to work with you! Just a little about my background, I have provided individual and family therapy for youth and adults for over 15 years in a multitude of settings. Most of my work has been with at-risk populations and with adults who have an extensive mental health history. I so enjoy the process of providing therapy as it allows for growth to occur in "real time".

I have worked with clients with a wide range of barriers including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, career challenges, social phobias, low self-esteem and ADHD. I also helped many people who have begun experiencing mental health challenges related to social media which is emerging more and more.

My therapy style is warm but straight forward, interactive and engaging. I believe in treating the "whole" person by utilizing an holistic approach that looks at many dynamics of each person. My style is eclectic because I do not personally believe that "one size fits all." My therapy style is geared around each individual client in a sensitive yet personable way. I believe in the transference of energy so I encourage all of my clients to bring their authentic selves to our sessions!

I love to look at this work as a joint venture. I will be able to lead, guide and provide insight but it will be up to YOU to take the necessary steps towards the change that YOU desire to see. I will meet you where you are and we will take this journey together! I look forward to working with you!

About online counseling

Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Overall

Although I have only been working with Lauren for a very short period of time, I really enjoy our sessions so far. Although our sessions aren’t in person, I still feel very welcomed. I feel that she asks the right questions to slowly but surely get me to realize certain things and that is very helpful. I am pretty comfortable overall with Lauren, and I hope that I allow myself to open up more to really allow her to help me.
