More about me
Licensing: LCSW Years in Practice: 3 State: Rhode Island
Hello! My name is Cheyenne and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Rhode Island. I'm a native to RI with deep roots, and I love where I live. I am a wife to a veteran, and mom to a Siberian Husky and a Holland Lop Rabbit.
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology at University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, and my Masters degree in Social Work from Boston University. Prior to, during, and post MSW, I have worked in a variety of therapeutic settings, including: crisis intervention, enhanced outpatient services, working with the homeless population in Providence and surrounding areas, providing individual therapy to veterans, and have provided therapeutic support to children with varying disabilities and their families throughout the state of Rhode Island, both in the form of direct support and clinical supervision. I work with clients affected by depression, trauma, anxiety, PTSD, relationship challenges, eating disorders, and developmental and cognitive disabilities.
I believe in a client-centered approach to therapy, meaning I believe you to be the expert on your life. I will trust you to determine where we go in therapy, and I will help guide that journey with a therapeutic lens. I primarily utilize solution-focused therapy, talk therapy, psycho-education, narrative therapy, and motivational interviewing.
I feel that your presence on this page is a brave step in your journey, and I want to recognize that it takes courage to seek out therapeutic support. If you feel I may be a good fit to help guide you in this next chapter of your life, please don't hesitate to reach out.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
