More about me
Licensing: MSW, LCSW-C Years in Practice: 10 State: Maryland
As a Clinician for over a decade helping clients work through life changes, trauma, cognitive functioning, depression and anxiety- I find the most important factors in healing is to address the symptoms, process any underlying struggles and work to gain skills not just to survive -but thrive.
I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from University of Maryland, with a dual concentrating in Management & Community organizing and Clinical Therapy with Families and Children (graduation 2012). I received my LCSW-C in 2014 and became a certified Supervisor in 2015.
Prior to getting my MSW I worked in Treatment Foster Care, Residential Treatment Centers, in Domestic Violence Shelters, and extensively with the Special Needs population. Since getting my Masters I have worked as school-based clinician helping students working through trauma, homelessness, anxiety, depression and grief. Ive also worked as a school-based clinician providing services and support to students and families with all levels of Autism Spectrum and Asperger's Syndrome. And most recently I have provided direct-care and Executive leadership to an agency that provides support to Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Survivors.
My approach is to provide solution-focused, client-centered support that allows everyone to have a safe space to process their stories and regroup in order to have their most successful life.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
