More about me
Licensing: LCPC, NCC Years in Practice: 5 State: Maryland
Hi! My name is Kelly Guyton I am an African America/Black woman and am so pleased you have decided to consider me to support you on your journey to recovery. To introduce myself, I have over 5 years’ experience working within various populations such as children, adolescents, and adults within communities, residential, college student, and intensive outpatients ranging working with all age groups and families. I am pleased to say I have helped many individuals and families who have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, ADHD, mild autism, co-morbidity (multiple diagnosis) and eating disorders.
In addition, I can help individuals regulate their emotions, build life skills, develop healthy relationships, and build coping skills, I also specialize in Eating Disorders using Cognitive Behavior Therapy- Enhanced (CBTE-E), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Family Based Therapy (FBT). In short, I use mindfulness skills to help individuals live and behave in ways consistent with their personal values while developing psychological flexibility. I will help you live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate your emotions, and improve your relationships with others.
These are the clinical supportive ways I use to help you achieve and maintain your recovery. I also use a holistic approach as well. This means I am in support of connecting mind, body, and spirit if you so choose to use this for your healing. Overall, I aim to meet you where you are on your healing journey. This means I will meet you where you are and work with you setting your goals, creating a plan, and setting out to achieve the goals you set.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
