More about me
Years in Practice: 10 State: California
I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker with over 20 years of experience working in the mental health field. I received my Master of Social work degree from Cal State East Bay focusing on community mental health in 2013. Within the last 8 years, I have worked at the West Contra Costa Youth Service Bureau as a Clinician providing counseling to youth ages 7-18. Many of the youth I serve have been exposed to multiple traumatic events including domestic violence, and community violence. Many of the clients I service I have a wide variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, suicide ideation, irritable and angry outburst, isolation, and low impulse control. I have also served as a clinical intern for 5 years at the Northern California Family Center where I provided individual psychodynamic therapy to children and adults diagnosed with ADHD, General Anxiety, Depression, and Pica. Additionally, I supported families and couples with conflict resolution.
I have a warm and friendly approach to the clients I serve. I am passionate, nonjudgmental, and listen to clients' needs. I have a resourceful approach to the clients I work with and support them with identifying immediate needs prior to addressing therapeutic needs. I believe in empowering others and supporting others with finding their true self. I have used seeking safety, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy when working with my existing clients.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
