I have been a professional counselor for over 25 years, practicing in Colorado and Idaho. I graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder with my Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and Education and received my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education from the University of Colorado at Denver.
I enjoy counseling adults of all ages as well as older teens. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is essential along with creating a counseling environment which is friendly, safe and non-judgemental. I enjoy incorporating the expressive arts into my counseling work in order to encourage communication and creative thinking. As a certified yoga instructor, I also appreciate the connection of mind and body and believe that most clients can benefit from learning to breathe, practicing mindfulness techniques and movement.

Talking with Lisa is like confiding with a wise friend.. She listens to my concerns, offers a fresh perspective, and encourages me to have confidence on my abilities.
Lisa has helped me through so much! She helped with boundary setting, relationship problems, and dealing with past relationship problems. She has given me the confidence to say NO and really work on my own terms which has helped in my relationship as a single mother as well as with my son. I cannot express how wonderful Lisa is!

I started seeing Lisa back in January. I've been to a few different counselors and therapists over the years feeling like it never worked for me. I can honestly say that she is the best match I've ever had! She really makes you feel heard, and responds to all of your concerns. I love that she asks questions and checks in on things, I do really well when asked questions to initiate conversation. She is responsive if I need her outside of scheduled sessions. Her advice and therapy techniques have been very beneficial for me. I've made more progress in a few months with her than I have in the last decade with any other doctor/therapist/counselor. I definitely recommend her!
I have only had two sessions so far, and I can say that I am so happy to have Lisa as my therapist. She’s great at listening to whatever it is I have to say, and offers really wonderful advice. Also, she’s very straight forward and will tell you like it is, and that’s exactly what I need. She does it in a respectful way, in a way that is very receptive, not offensive. She is here to help me manage my emotions, take initiative/control over my life, and to encourage me to follow my passions and never allow anyone to hold me back. She truly is a gem, and I feel lucky to have come across her profile. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
