More about me
Licensing: MS, LMHC, NCC Years in Practice: 42 State: New York
I am a mental health counselor licensed in New York with over 40 years of experience working with as a professional counselor and life coach. I have worked in a number of settings, including inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities, community agencies, and have provided Employee Assistance Program services for a number of corporations and government agencies. While I have experience working with a wide range of populations, I most enjoy working with individuals experiencing difficulty with life transitions, processing feelings of grief/loss, trauma, work life, parenting and family/relationship issues. I also have experience in working with substance abuse related issues, especially in areas of codependency and early stage recovery.
I generally prefer to utilize an Existential approach in my work, looking at relationships, choices and consequences, and exploring alternatives in decision making. However, I am also able to utilize alternate approaches as appropriate, based on based on client needs and preferences. My belief is that the relationship is the essence of therapy and that my role in your experience is to provide support and guidance in assisting you to develop and achieve your goals.
Thank you for allowing me to assist you with your needs. I look forward to our adventures together.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
