Hello. My name is LeNora Black and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Virginia with over 20 years of experience consistently developing as a therapist. I have partnered with clients addressing a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, anger management and substance abuse. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. Using my expertise gained through years of U.S. Army Recruiting and Retention; Employee Assistance Counseling (EAP); Community and Clinical Private Practice experience, I am honored to meet you where you are with your goal for this service.
My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I am committed to creating a collaborative interaction; and feelings of safety, confidentiality in our therapeutic relationship. My approach is eclectic, deriving ideas mainly from theories such as polyvagal, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, trauma focused and rational-emotive therapy. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
