Hello! My name is Mary, I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Maryland with over 15 years of experience in working with children and their families. Finding a therapist that matches your needs is extremely important.
My background is in working to strengthen families, helping individuals to get in touch with their feelings and to find their individual strength and identity. This include building self-identity and exploring what your feelings mean to you. Most of my work has been in the areas of grief and loss, attachment, sex abuse, trauma and improving family function. My approach is caring and non-judgmental. I believe in creating a safe space that allows you to explore who you are, and to gain knowledge about yourself that produces growth in tangible ways.
My approach is strength-based and person-centered using trauma focused cognitive behavior theory. I am very supportive and with your help, will create goals that will help you to move from feeling stuck to feeling empowered. I am committed to helping you move through your therapeutic process in ways that lets you know that you are a part of this journey.
I believe that each person is unique and customize sessions to meet their specific needs. I am available in the evenings and on weekends.
Connection is important to me and am looking forward to working with you in improving your overall emotional wellbeing.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
