More about me

Licensing: PhD, Licensed, Psychologist Years in Practice: 20 State: Maryland

It takes courage to seek out therapy and my goal is to create a space where you will feel safe, trusted and supported to explore what is important to you. I will work empathically and collaboratively with you by seeking to understand what is going well and areas which you would like to change. Drawing from principles of positive psychology and executive coaching, I will work with you to set goals to help you move forward in areas where you might feel stuck. I believe that one of the most important aspects of therapy is fit/rapport with your therapist. Therefore, I will often check in with you to make sure that we are going in a direction that you want. Your time is valuable and it is important that we are meeting your goals for seeking out therapy.

I am a licensed psychologist in Maryland with over 20 years of experience working with diverse clients in a variety of settings, including higher education and healthcare. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, identity exploration, career exploration, job burnout, stress management, resiliency and managing competing demands. In my work with clients, I use a client-centered approach and draw from positive psychology, cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal and family systems theories. My volunteer work includes providing suicide prevention education through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and providing mentoring to underrepresented minority teens.

I very much look forward to working with you.

About online counseling

Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
