I am a doctorate level Psychologist with extensive experience. I have been in private practice working with individuals with a variety of conditions, ranging from simple anxieties and depressions to more serious issues, such as psychoses, more specialized areas such as cancer patients with end of life issues as well as eating disorders. In addition I was an Army Psychologist, with two tours in Iraq, working with post traumatic stress disorders. Other areas of trauma I had gained experience include domestic violence, where I worked with both abusers and abusees. My approach tends to be flexible since my experience has expanded my skills, insight and sensitivity. I have thus been able to adapt and work at the level of the client while addressing his/her needs. However I have given preference to cognitive behavior psychotherapy as an effective method of treatment where emotions and cognitions are explored. Their interaction and their impact on the individual can more efficiently be addressed in that fashion.
Perhaps my biggest asset after all is being said and done is my love and subsequent enthusiasm in working with people, helping them, seeing them grow and move on with their lives. One area I especially like to work is that of self esteem, as I believe that if the self esteem is healthy it more likely that issues by the the client can be more adequately addressed. I am looking forward to working and helping individuals with BetterHelp.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
