Incredibly helpful and attentive therapist. I've come a very long way in just 6 months, and am learning to use new and better tools to manage my life/emotions/hurdles.

In the few months we've been working together, I've been able to make sense of a lot of the superfluous drama in my head, the areas in which I may be blocking my own progress. The coping, thought, and lifestyle tips/exercises are incredibly helpful. Shanna Burnett is supportive and actually cares about me and my issues, makes me feel sure-footed in my decisions. I greatly appreciate her communication skills, professionalism, and ability to draw out what we need to work on further--with a concentration on the initial issues I brought to the table: grief & accomplishing life goals.

Hi, there. I am a licensed professional counselor in both Georgia and Mississippi , and I have over 15 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, relationship issues, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in professional counseling. My experience includes service to a variety of populations in various settings to include—Department of Corrections/Juvenile Justice, inpatient/acute/outpatient/residential care to name a few. I have experience with adults, children/ adolescents in family, group, and individual care. I also have experience working from several therapy models and have found Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to be the best fit for the clients I serve. I am not rigid in my approaches, however, and enjoy a challenge, so I'm open to utilizing whichever model, tool, skill that meets the needs of my clients. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey. I believe in meeting people where they are, so I am always working to be a better me. I challenge you to work with me, so I can help you be the BEST YOU, YOU CAN BE!!!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
