I come to BetterHelp with personal maturity, shared humanitarian values, and clinical practice in varied settings. My professional career began as a not-for-profit entrepreneur following an MBA. I have developed organizations assisting homeless boys and abused women as well as creating business opportunities for disadvantaged populations to become economically self-sufficient. Since beginning my education as a License Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC MAAT and YTT), I have worked as a therapist with individuals of all ages, with families and in group settings, and have in-depth exposure to clinical contexts involving trauma and loss. I have worked as a therapist in hospitals in the psychiatric unit and lately in a recognized trauma informed program.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Wendy listens , understands, cares and helps you see the light at the end of the tunnel. She is amazing!
Wendy always takes time to listen to me, then makes the effort to check in to verify that she's hearing and understanding me correctly before responding. It makes a world of difference interacting with someone that makes sure you are being understood!
Wendy is a kind and caring person and therapist. Her insights and intelligence of my situation were key in helping me understand my areas that I needed to change and improve. Forever thankful to Wendy for being my therapist!

Awesome
Kind, wise, caring, patient. Understanding, helpful , smart, intuitive, supportive
I've only really met with her once (the first time super short b/c of tech issues on my end). I found her receptive to what I had to say, followed along, allowed me to be heard and offered advice when I asked for it. Excited to continue to work with her.
I am so fortunate to have the support of Wendy. She listens carefully, cares about what I have to say and helps me find a better path for myself. I feel better after every session. In the end, I am not only getting better for myself, but I am also becoming a better Mom and Wife.
Wendy is a kind and understanding human and she is willing to share her humanness with her clients. She uses humor meaningfully throughout our sessions. I appreciate her challenging my thoughts and helping me better understand my feelings. She is not overly clinical or impersonal. She uses her clients strengths and interests in exercises and homework.
Wendy is super empathic, she immediately builds a safe place to share and builds positively giving me tools to keep evolving. I really appreciate my work with her

A few sessions in and it’s going well so far. Wendy is very understanding and open minded. I have enjoyed our sessions and I always have homework to do before we next talk. She gets to know your story, keeps you engaged, and challenges you.
I am so blessed to have been “paired” up with Wendy. This software worked incredibly well for me. Wendy is a great listener, wise, warm compassionate, encouraging, supportive like à fantastically wise Auntie with a PHD. She helps with all sorts of dilemmas big and small. From deep childhood trauma to everyday anxieties. I look forward to my weekly sessions…. I always feel more positive afterwards… with a plan.
Listens well. Relates to your issues. Helpful.
Even though I only had a few sessions with Wendy, I feel she understood my issues and is very empathetic.
Wendy is amazing! She listens to me and helps me really find the core of what is the real issue for me at hand. She helps me problem solve and teaches me how to be the best version of myself first and foremost. I have never connected with a therapist before but I immediately felt that connection with Wendy. I look forward to our sessions and feel so much better afterwards. I feel a positive change since my sessions with Wendy.

Wendy listens … hears me… points out thoughts that need attention… give me homework… suggests actions to take…
I appreciate Wendy so much. Wendy is helping me understand myself. And guiding me to love who I am. Wendy brings in her own life experiences so that we can relate better. I always feel comfortable speaking to Wendy and she gives me the courage to speak my mind. I am so happy I decided to get therapy through better help and I'm so grateful to have Wendy as my therapist.
Wendy is amazing! She definitely makes you feel comfortable and allows for you to open up and talk about whatever it is you’re worried about . Thank you Wendy!
Wendy understands and accepts me. She holds me accountable while making me feel validated and additionally pushes me out of my comfort zone to be vulnerable in a safe environment. She seems to understand me at my core and know the things I need to hear even more than some of my friends and family can do. So thankful for Wendy!
I have had the opportunity to meet with Wendy Gilchrist for the past several months. My first experience with online therapy proved to be a good way in which to communicate given the times we live in. Wendy, I feel, went out of her way to continue to provide me with feedback, exercises to help me with my issues. In all cases she was understanding and supportive. I could not ask for a better experience in seeking help. Thank you Wendy Gilchrist! You are a truly compassionate person. Marty
Wendy is amazing and very insightful. I appreciate her point of view and she has been very helpful to me.
Wendy Gilchrist is such a great person to talk to. She knows how to make you feel heard and seen. Every session is very helpful!
She is a great help in identifying issues and helping to better you. You are her main priority but she still wants you to have an active life. She is very great at uplifting and getting to the root of many emotions and behaviors. She make you feel welcomed.
Wendy is great. After just one session, I knew she'd be a good match for me. After the second session, I felt like it was helping me already. She must take good notes because she remembers details from previous sessions. I'm not naive; she's seen me only a few times, once a week for 30-45 minutes, but I already feel like she knows me and cares about me and wants to help me. I live in a small town. The options for therapy are limited in my town, and you feel like there's always a risk that rumors will get out ... people see your car parked at the clinic every week. With Wendy, I feel like I'm getting a better quality of care and I don't even have to leave my house. She's non-judgmental. Still, she makes me work. She gives me plenty of homework to do and asks good questions. She seems really genuine to me. I don't expect therapy to be merely a cheerleading session to make me feel good about myself once a week. I know there's work to be done, and I want a therapist who will make me do the work. Wendy does but in a way that is not pushy or demanding. I look forward to my weekly sessions.
She makes it so easy to talk to her almost like I’ve known her my whole life

Wendy is simply the best match for me. We have a lot in common. She supports my artistic gifts. She also helps me understand how choices I’ve made were not sign of failure but strength.
