More about me
Years in Practice: 10
I am an LPC (licensed professional counselor) in Virginia. Educated and trained at Wake Forest University, I am a community based mental health / mental wellness professional. My work targets issues including Marriage and Family, substance addiction, depression, anxiety, LGBTQ+ concerns, and challenging life transitions. I have expertise in working with clients of all ages with most of my client being families and adults (ages 18 and up).
Provided face-to-face and online, I use Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), coupled with Logo Therapy that is tailored specifically to each client's needs. I recognize that clients are the experts of their own experience.
I always approach client issues with empathy. I view therapy as a journey and an opportunity for each client to become more self-aware, overcome difficulties, reduce distressing symptoms, and learn coping tool. Please reach out to me so that we can begin your journey.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
