More about me

My name is Randia M. Dickerson, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Rhode Island. I obtained both my Bachelor and Master of Social Work degrees from Rhode Island College School of Social Work. I have experience working with individuals from marginalized communities such as people of color, LGBTQA+, undocumented individuals, victims of sex trafficking, and survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. I have provided therapeutic interventions and safe spaces for healing to children, adolescents, and adults seeking support with depression, anxiety, trauma, stressors within the family system and psychosocial barriers. My values as a clinician strongly align with advocacy, social justice, dignity and showing up for those that otherwise would be alone on the road to improved mental health. As a clinician my practice style is a client-centered and strength-based treatment perspective to ensure clients feel heard, accepted, empowered, and maintain autonomy throughout their treatment preserving self-determination. Treatment modalities I find beneficial to ongoing mental health care in my area of practice are cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, deep breathing, and grounding techniques also solution-focused interventions. I have experience working with individuals that have the career path of sex work; and the professional capacity to explore in an appropriate manner all topics regarding, sex, sexuality and all things on the pleasure spectrum. I look forward to working with you.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
