More about me

My name is Ankita Mohanty (ankh-KEE-tha moh-HAHN-thee) and I use she/her pronouns. I was born in Odisha, India, raised in central Michigan, and have lived in the Bay Area for nearly a decade. I currently live on the unceded lands of the Coast Miwok people.
I have worked for the past decade in residential treatment, private practice, foster care/adoption, school, hospital, and community mental health settings. Each environment has refined my skillset for accessing sacred space within existing conditions. I especially enjoy working with people who identify as creatives, highly sensitive people (HSPs), and spiritual seekers.
My style is improvisational yet tethered in mindful somatic inquiry, meaning the body’s knowing is uplifted into present moment awareness. This serves to inform the session’s direction, pace, and intensity, which ultimately contributes to greater safety and more easeful integration.
I believe entering into relationship with ourselves is a devotional practice; it asks our patience, attention, and courage. In return, we are gifted with awareness of our own personal magic. I am honored to be alongside you at this point in your journey.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
