I am an integrative therapist specialising in Trauma and Abuse with experience of a wide range of issues, including addictions, relationship difficulties, panic attacks, dissociation, flashbacks, anxiety and depression. I use various models and theories to support my work including Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural, Humanistic and Solution Focused Therapy. I work with both long term and short term issues and modify each therapy based on the needs of each individual client.

Many clients who come to me report feeling stuck and unable to move on, have difficulty in facing day to day situations and suffer high levels of stress in their lives. I help clients break down their own personal barriers, unlock their potential and live a more self confident and fulfilling life.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Alison is both empathetic and practical, a great listener who is able to quickly connect the dots and offer alternative perspectives I haven't yet considered (and from an overthinker that is a great compliment!). I would highly recommend working with her.

She listens, which is the main thing.

When I was considering joining BetterHelp, I was skeptical because I didn’t know how effective it would be to have therapy over text/call/video. But right from the start, Alison completely set me at ease. She is so friendly and made me feel completely relaxed. She is very understanding and has made me feel heard and validated. I honestly, couldn’t say enough good things about Alison.

5*s every time! Alison holds a very safe space to allow much needed tears, healing and awareness to flow. I put the work in to be vulnerable and Alison meets me there every time with so much compassion. Her insights and experience have given me “gems” and “ah-has” every week. Self- belief and esteem is growing and I can feel myself starting to find/reveal my shine and sparkle. I can and I will achieve my goals - finally! I always leave feeling “I have got this”. Alison is very special and anyone would be lucky to have found her.
