Working through life's challenges together...

I truly believe that building a strong, authentic and trusting relationship between therapist and client is the foundation for success in therapy. As a warm and welcoming therapist, I pride myself on offering a personalised and tailored approach to therapy that puts your needs first. I'm here to support you and help you comfortably achieve your goals.

I believe that our early attachments play a significant role, and our learned patterns of relating to ourselves and others play out unconsciously. These become our blueprint and are deeply ingrained within our neural pathways. Some behaviours/thoughts and emotional responses are helpful, whilst others are not.

Therapy can be a valuable learning tool for better understanding yourself and how you cope. By gaining a deeper understanding of yourself (learning from the past and not living in it), you can strengthen your relationship with yourself - I believe to be the most important relationship we ever have.

I am a BACP-accredited relational integrative psychotherapist, well-being practitioner and supervisor with a BA (Hons) and Science degree in counselling. I previously worked in various healthcare and educational settings, including A&E, surgery, mental health, community health visitors, learning support, end-of-life care, social care, rehabilitation, schools, and nurseries. (I hold a level 7 qualification in nursing/healthcare).

My approach in therapy is relational and looks at unconscious drivers that play out in adult relationships (with self and others). Through understanding our body and mind, we learn to comprehend other forms of communication, enabling us to live a more fulfilling life. My belief is that our body and mind are interlinked, and by working holistically, I can enter your world and support you to be more self-aware, leading to personal growth and emotional healing.

My modality is the Clarkson 5 relationship model, which underpins my approach to work. As a BACP-accredited registered Psychotherapist and Supervisor based in the UK, I adhere to the guidelines and ethics set by the BACP.

Before working as a therapist, I gained experience in various settings, including mental health services, hospitals, rehabilitation, community health visiting services, learning support, and end-of-life and early years settings. This experience enables me to work holistically, as I believe all aspects of our overall health are interconnected.

In addition to working with BetterHelp, I collaborate with Relational Counselling Tadworth, offering psychotherapy for couples and individuals, as well as counselling supervision for Students and Qualified Counsellors/Psychotherapists. Relational Counselling is well-established and built upon recommendations.

I previously worked for many years at a domestic violence charity, with a counselling charity for young people and a specialised Bereavement Counselling charity. Within these charities, I worked as a psychotherapist, supervisor and group facilitator.

The psychotherapy/counselling I offer is always tailored to meet your individual needs. I incorporate theoretical approaches, techniques & tools from various schools & traditions, including psychodynamic, existential, humanistic & transpersonal.

I will support you in accessing your inner wisdom and finding a way forward so that life feels balanced and manageable. I will not give advice, try to fix you or tell you what to do; You are your own expert.

I see Counselling as a process rather than a quick fix. I am a very warm and welcoming individual. I will take time to build a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship with you, to enable you to speak openly and freely without any judgment. I can offer alternative perspectives and approaches to viewing your situation. I will challenge your thoughts, utilise techniques or tools to access your unconscious mind, and provide space for emotional healing, among other benefits. This might mean working in a short-term or long-term capacity, depending on your needs for the space.

Experienced areas include:

Anger, Anxiety, Bereavement, Childhood abuse, Depression, Domestic Abuse, Relationship issues, Self-esteem, Self-harm, Sudden & traumatic death, & Work-related stress.

Continued professional development (CPD)

I am a dedicated professional, continually advancing my professional knowledge by attending various workshops, seminars, and reading literature on therapeutic techniques, current neuroscience findings & mental health research.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
