Hello and welcome! My name is Amy and I would like to say thank you for taking the time out to read a bit more about me.
I am a person centred counsellor and I work in a holistic, collaborative and pluralistic way: This may mean that at times I might suggest integrating elements from other modalities, to aid you to where you want to be. I will meet you where you are at right now in life, and ensure you feel safe, heard and accepted. By providing a warm, supportive and welcoming space I can help you work through the feelings you are having at your own pace.
I am a BACP registered Counsellor & Psychotherapist. I have worked with a range of clients who have experienced difficulties including stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship and financial difficulties, domestic violence and sexual abuse. In my private practice, I often work with people experiencing antenatal and post partum difficulties as well as pregnancy, miscarriage, baby loss and abortion. I have nine years of maternity experience working within the NHS and have a particular interest in working with pregnancy and postnatal related issues, birth trauma and grief. I am an accredited practitioner with the Foundation for Infant Loss.
In recent years, I have gained more of a personal interest in neurodiversity; specifically ASD and ADHD. This is mainly due to caring for my child with SEND. As having lived experienced of being a carer, I'm interested in working with clients who are parents/ carers of family members with SEND.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
