Very good therapist!

Reviewed September 2024

I have had James as a therapist for over a year and I am very thankful for his professionalism, dedication to helping others and myself, but most of all I am able to be myself in sessions without feeling pressured. I also enjoy his flexible schedule which is one of the reasons I have used BetterHelp for therapy. James is encouraging and challenges me to grow and learn more about myself each session. I cannot thank him enough for his work!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

James has been my therapist for just over a year now, and his guidance has been immeasurable. In the past year, I've gone through a series of very rough patches that he helped me navigate and helped me stay accountable to myself throughout. He is very patient and a great listener. He always provided insight and asked me some challenging questions that really provoked thought but ultimately helped me onto the right path for me. I can't recommend him enough!

He is a cool, kind man and I enjoy talking with him, even with our large age gap. I usually find it difficult to talk to people who aren’t around my age, but he makes it easy. Very nice man.

Reviewed April 2023

I have been seeing James for roughly 4 months now and if you are new to therapy or have had negative experiences in the past like I have I would highly recommend him. He is genuine, compassionate, and learns about you as a person and treatment isn't pushed or if you don't feel like talking about what has brought you to therapy to begin with we don't talk about it. Before him, I was very inconsistent with therapy, hated going, hated myself more (apologize for hard truth), and felt pressured into things I didn't agree with. Thank you for everything you have done for me!!
