She has helped me understand the nature of my past hurt and work through it, understand certain behaviours of myself and others as a result of what happened, and provide frameworks and actionable steps to move on and improve how I deal with things in the future. She has also helped me to set goals with regards to what I want next in order to be in a place of good mental well-being and provided healthy coping strategies for any future triggers. Fiona is professional, understanding, kind, reliable, warm, empathetic, balanced and has good insights. She challenges perspectives when needed and listens at length to how I am feeling. On a more personal level, I have been very touched by Fiona's cultural sensitivity and curiosity; coming from a different ethnic background and having a different faith which holds an important place of my life, Fiona has taken effort to understand my values and align her therapy techniques in a way that does not conflict with religious guidance but instead incorporates it with other established mental health techniques. Fiona has, in a short time, helped me realise some of the main reasons that I’m so unhappy and desperate at times and given me hope I might actually be able to finally change it. I know it will take time and effort but already I do feel like I’m making positive inroads towards feeling better because of her support, advice and help. Fiona is patient, focused and understands what I’m saying even when I don’t really understand it myself! She doesn’t make me feel stupid or minimise my feelings. Will listen, and really make sure to get to the main point of what the issues are. Makes sure to persue things that are brought up to truly work out what is necessary to do, in order to help with the situation you are in.
