Part of the reason I love my work is because I love meeting new people. As a therapist, I love learning about the lives of others and helping them find the best ways to face difficult situations. I believe true progress can only be made in a place of safety and kindness; I hope all clients feel the compassion I bring to our work.
I am licensed in Virginia with four years of professional work experience.
I have worked with children, adolescents and adults who seek therapy for a variety of reasons. I have helped clients address issues relating to anxiety, depression, communication difficulties, relationship struggles and transitional life stress.
I believe in a humanistic approach to therapy; I believe the focus of therapy is and should be the client. The techniques that I use in therapy will depend specifically on need and presenting issue. I largely use techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is founded on the belief that our thoughts impact our feelings which then impact our behavior. By addressing our thoughts thoroughly, we are able to adjust them begin changing behaviors that are unhelpful. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
