More about Victoria

  • 5 years' experience

  • BACP

I am licensed in the UK and work with clients who have experienced very challenging, and often life changing, situations.

How we view ourselves in the world (and our experiences in life) can have an enormous impact on us, both positively and negatively. I am old enough and experienced enough to have felt this impact myself. I also understand that life can take unexpected turns.

My approach is person-centred, which means that you are the expert in your world and you have the answers within you. We will work together, at a pace that’s right for you, so you can unlock your solutions. Being person-centred means that the sessions are guided by you, so if you wish to build strategies and techniques we can do that. If you wish to have the space to share what’s going on for you, working through the emotions, we can do that too. It is your therapy and you get to bring anything you wish. It can feel challenging at times, but the positive changes you feel will make it a worthwhile journey.

I am a very down to earth person and I am always inspired by the hard work my clients put into processing their concerns, improving their lives and finding their authentic selves.

I work in private practice, I volunteer my services to a local mental health charity and I work therapeutically with members of my school community. I support children and their families through challenging times.

I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, parenting issues, depression and ADHD and ASC/D, work related stress and much more. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where your thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.

Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage and can be daunting. But I am here to support you in that process, providing you with warmth, safety and empathy as you begin your journey towards a more fulfilled you.

I have also recently published a guided journal on Amazon - 365: A Year of Self-Discovery. My aim is to provide the tools for exploration and understanding to as many people as possible!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I have had 4 sessions so far and it has made an enormous difference to how I feel. Victoria really listens and makes very useful practical suggestions that have helped me to be more organised, more present in the moment and more focussed which in turn has led me to feel much happier and empowered. I feel very well supported by her and able to talk to her about anything.

Victoria is the best therapist I've ever had. Despite being such a professional therapist it doesn't feel like sitting with a therapist. More of like talking to your long lost aunt who you re-connected to after spending your childhood away. I used to feel so drained after therapy sessions before I used Betterhelp and my sessions with Victoria are feeling like catching up with said aunt. She always knows exactly what I have in mind and I don't need to explain much further. Despite my native language not being English I feel so comfortable and there's no language barriers at all! Highly highly recommend! But not too much, so she still has time for me ;-D

I've been working with Vickie for the last two and a half months on my ADHD symptoms and I already feel miles ahead of where I used to be. Not only is Vickie kind and welcoming, but she is also very in-tune with the swirling, often overwhelming thoughts in my head — the "spaghetti junction," as she so aptly put it. She offers helpful nuggets of wisdom like that and many more, which together we've turned into actionable next steps. I'm very pleased with my progress and eager for more!
