I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP) with 4 years of professional work experience.
I run a successful private practice where I see clients in person, via online services or on telephone calls. I gained much of my experience though training and working with a local Mental Health charity where I was a volunteer counselor.
My clients come from all walks of life and different cultures and backgrounds. I strive to create an open and safe environment where my clients thoughts, feelings and emotions can be shared without fear of judgment. Clients may feel anxious or upset as they begin to talk but I put them at their ease and create a relaxed atmosphere where they feels safe.
I use Person Centred Therapy (PCT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and a combination of both therapies. Through experience I have found that people have a desire to talk about the issues that are troubling them. Using PCT the client is able to offload their worries, fears and experiences I listen in an empathetic and non judgement manner. I will ask questions in order to gain clarification of points which may be unclear. Later I will begin to ask challenging questions about why the client feels the way they do. The aim is to explore how the client feels about themselves and confront any negative beliefs the client may be thinking about themselves. I will use CBT to enable the client to gain new skills in order to challenge their own negative thoughts and work towards viewing their issues in more positive ways.
Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take a great deal of courage so well done for getting started!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
