Adam is a fantastic listener in the sense that he remembers and picks up on details as I speak in a really helpful, supportive, and insightful way. He doesn't label anything or judge anything but I feel like he really has the patience to get to know my train of thought and the patter of my feelings to identify and hone in on areas it could be helpful to focus or expand on slightly. He understands childhood trauma and relationship dynamics and is super humble, human, and empathetic in his approach. He allows me to speak whatever comes up which enables authentic development from session to session.

Hi! I'm Adam (he/him). I am based in Southport, Merseyside, UK. I have worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist for over 7 years and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
For so many different reasons, life can pull us away in so many directions from who we really are and what matters most, often without us noticing. The consequences of this can make life feel like a struggle, challenging, scary and at times incredibly overwhelming and difficult to cope with. I care very deeply about helping people connect with themselves, with others and the world around them in ways that feel healthier, beneficial and meaningful.
I am experienced in helping clients work through a variety of issues and concerns - most prominently related to; anxiety, stress, low mood and depression, low self-esteem, worth and confidence, and the impact of problematic ways of relating/attachment patterns experienced within ourselves and within family and other relationship dynamics.
From my experience this can often show up as:
Finding yourself often worrying about what others may think about you?
Self-talk that can be extremely critical and shaming towards self.
People-pleasing, worry about upsetting others, fear of failing, avoiding situations of conflict, procrastination, not feeling good enough, or not feeling you are doing enough, difficulties navigating and maintaining friendships/relationships, uncomfortableness with emotional intimacy, overthinking and ruminating, thinking about worst-case scenarios, anxiety and worry around uncertainty/change, difficulty with regulating your emotions. I wonder does any of the above resonate with you?
I am a Person-Centred counsellor and psychotherapist. Being person-centred means meeting you where you are. I aim to offer you a space of understanding, acceptance, respect and honest to allow you to feel comfortable to talk freely, knowing you won’t be judged. Each session is shaped around you and what you bring, what matters to you and at your pace. Counselling is not about telling you what to do but to support you in making sense of things in a way that builds confidence and trust in yourself in knowing what feels right for you.
To help me meet you where you are to the best of my ability and support your therapeutic needs, I have done additional continuing professional development learning and training in Attachment Theory, Working with the Inner Child, Transactional Analysis (TA) and Creative therapeutic ways of working building on my core counselling and psychotherapy training and knowledge. Within my work I incorporate elements of these and techniques if I feel it is appropriate for you with what we are working on together.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Adam is great. Always listens and makes you feel heard and make sure he fully understands what you need from your sessions.
I’ve been working with Adam for more than a year now. It’s been a great journey. Adam is very professional and listening. And he allowed me to go at my own pace.
Adam advice is amazing and he listens very well to what I’m saying and offers very good advice
I have only just started with Adam but I can tell we are a good fit
Adam is my hero. He listens and helps me find my answers, so I know I am being true to myself and my way forward is sustainable. Working through the Inner Child steps has really helped me identify some root causes and aibm grateful he proposed the approach, that was just what I needed. He was able to see it yet he never imposes any method, approach, view, just pure non judgemental critical (in the positive sense!) kind listening, reflecting the right questions to help me untangle thoughts and feelings. An eternally grateful client
Adam is defo considerate and so genuine. He always listen to me, and he is so understanding. I love that his practice is so person-centred. He is really flexible and open and honest. He will adjust to my needs and feelings, and he does not stick to one technique during our sessions. He is also open to feedback and really accepting my boundaries and values. But for him, I would not have been able to cope with my depression and anxiety for the last few months.
Although I only spoke to Adam 2 times, I instantly knew he was such a lovely person. He took the time to really listen and understand me, and if you’re looking for someone that’s realistic, calm and caring then you’ll love Adam.
