More about Amy

  • 4 years' experience
  • Female
  • LPC

I am licensed in Tennessee with almost 5 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, family conflicts, anger management, & depression as well as numerous other issues. I have worked in private practice and a county detention facility while living in Colorado and most recently community mental health in Tennessee. I graduated from the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky with two master degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Addictions Counseling.

After growing up in East Tennessee, I spent 10 years in Kentucky and 3 years in the rocky mountains of Colorado. While I feel blessed to have had those experiences, I am excited to be "back home" in the volunteer state. As well as a wife, stepmom (bonus mom), grandmother (aka Mims), and dog mom to Cooper (golden retriever), Josie (labradoodle), and Finnegan (pup of Cooper and Josie), I am also a daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, and friend. In my spare time, I love traveling, hiking, reading, watching movies, attending sporting events, and trying new foods!

I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support and encourage you in that process.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Amy is an incredible counselor. She is not only a good listener, but she has an incredible wealth of knowledge and wisdom to help you tackle whatever you may be going through. She's not just someone who nods their head and asks, "how does that make you feel?". She actively proposes solutions that work and communicates her teachings through stories or allegories. I highly recommend her to anyone, especially if you are interested in cognitive behavioural therapy.
