More about Kellie

  • 15 years' experience
  • Female
  • LPCC

I am a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) and registered art therapist (AT-R) in Ohio with 15 years of experience working with clients 18 years old and up. I provide by appointment chat messaging sessions only (I do not provide video or phone call sessions). I only treat RESIDENTS OF OHIO- you must physically be in and live in/be a resident of Ohio to receive counseling from me because I am only licensed in Ohio.

MY AREAS OF FOCUS:

anxiety, anger mgnt, emotion regulation, depression (EXCLUDES severe treatment-resistant depression/ anxiety - meaning symptoms have not responded despite adequate treatment), stress management/relaxation/mindfulness, trauma, grief/loss/bereavement, self-esteem/confidence, assertive communication, healthy boundaries development, anger issues, and social anxiety. My hours of operation are Mon-Fri 7am-12pm. Messages sent to me outside of a scheduled appt, will be responded to within 24-48hrs. Feel free to plug yourself into my schedule for an initial consultation and assessment of the issues that bring you to therapy. From there we can see if I'm a good match for you based on my expertise.

Note:

The first session is an initial consultation of the issues that bring a client to therapy. From there it will be decided if it's a good match based on therapist expertise and client's issues.

I DO NOT TREAT THE FOLLOWING ISSUES:

Severe treatment-resistant depression/anxiety (symptoms have not responded despite adequate treatment), bipolar disorders, physical health conditions, somatic symptom disorder (SSD), illness anxiety disorder (IAD), ADHD, OCD, SUD-substance use disorders/abuse/addiction (drugs, , alcohol, gambling, sex, pornography, shopping, etc.-seek out LICDC-licensed independent chemical dependency counselor), ASD-autism spectrum disorders, marriage/couples counseling/family therapy issues/parenting issues (seek out MFT-marriage family therapist), borderline and Narcissistic personality disorders, eating disorders, phobias, schizophrenia/psychosis, fetishes, sexual disorders (seek out sex therapist), and gender issues/gender dysphoria. If you need support in any of these areas, please seek out therapists who list these areas of expertise in their profile description.

MY THERAPY APPROACH:

An eclectic combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused, existential, Jungian, Adlerian, Gestalt, integrative/holistic, psychodynamic, emotionally focused, and art therapy (I am a registered art therapist and have a master's degree in art therapy in addition to a master's degree in counseling - in order to be an art therapist and to practice art therapy, one must have a master's degree in AT). I intend to create an open and safe environment where thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can be shared and explored objectively. Congratulations on taking your first steps towards change and a more fulfilling life.

Note:

* The appropriate environment for therapy is in a private, quiet space that prohibits any interruptions/distractions, so that you can fully focus and get the most out of the time you set aside to work on you:)

*If a client is more than 7 min late to a session, the session is canceled, and they can reschedule at their convenience.

* Clinical notes, legal documents, FMLA docs, disability docs, DSM-5 diagnosis, letters, applications, or any other forms or document requests are prohibited and will not be provided for any reason.

*Clients must physically be in/live in/be a resident of the state of Ohio for each session. Driving or traveling while in session is not permitted (safety issue)

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
