Hi, welcome to my page!

My name is Lucia. I am a credentialed therapist in the UK with 3 years of professional work experience in a wide range of settings and with a range of clients including young adults. I have experience in helping clients with many issues, including stress and anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, ADHD, autism, addiction, domestic abuse, dementia and trauma and abuse.

I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I follow a person centred approach which means that my main aim during therapy is to listen to you and to try to really understand what life is like for you. I will not judge you or tell what you should do, but I will be along side you as you unpack and explore what is going on in your life. Often we will explore your past and childhood and see if there are any links between the past and the present that could be impacting you negatively. Sometimes we will come up with a plan together or I might make suggestions or give you an activity to do outside of the sessions. I draw on psychodynamic theory, gestalt and CBT to help us. I also use art and creative techniques if clients enjoy working this way. The sessions are always about you, the client, and what you want and need, any suggestions I make are just suggestions and it is always up to you if we do then or not.

Our first few sessions will all be about getting know each other and for me to learn about you, and for you to decide if you would like to work with me. It is very important that you feel comfortable and safe with the therapist you work with, so please do take your time to find the right person for you and use the initial sessions to make that decision and to check that you feel comfortable.

Therapy doesn’t cure everything and doesn’t have all the answers but it can really help and be a very powerful tool. By providing a non judgemental space for clients my aim is that they become more aware of the things in their lives that are holding them back and can therefore make positive changes in their lives.

Taking the first step to see a therapist and to explore our lives in more depth takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Please note I only work during the day and not evenings (UK time GMT) or weekends (however I do often work with international clients and because of the time difference it is often evenings for them).

Lucia has been paramount in helping me understand myself. My path here and now my path to the future. Lucia regularly checks in with me, reviews my rationale and offers guidance and a kind and accepting ear. Lucia is very good at opening a topic and then allowing me to problem solve and work through it, it's very clever! I can sense the shift in my thoughts and feelings. I cannot thank Lucia and the betterhelp class mentors enough. It's seems so obvious when you get through the smoke and mirrors of your mind, but without support - actually making the change would have been impossible! I'm still finding my feet, but truly have found compassion for myself, I am building my resilience and habits daily. Long may it continue. Bless Lucia and this service without it, I don't think I would ever have seen the point in anything again.
