Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Steven's guidance over the last few months has been really helpful during recent relationship difficulties, both as an individual counsellor and as a couples counsellor for me and my partner. He is patient, empathetic and non-judgmental, while also providing the right level of questioning to lead me to ask myself the honest but difficult questions, especially when it comes to setting boundaries. Reviewed August 2020

I am glad that I got to work with “Steve the Counselor” for the short time that I did. I was only able to have 4 sessions with him, but in this he helped me to logically work through the distressed mindset I had come into the sessions with and rework some healthier perspectives on the different situations I brought up. He was honest about when he had concerns about my thought process or behaviour based on what he’d learned in conversation and challenged me to take action in these areas. He also had some very good metaphorical illustrations for different concepts that made it all easier for me to understand and was able to relate the things that I talked about to various different interactions he had had in his experience as a counselor, which helped me to feel less alone in my struggles.

Reviewed August 2020

Within the first five minutes of our chat, Steven was able to understand where my feelings were rooted and help me completely reimagine how I can deal with them. He took the time to listen and talk me through how I can start to manage my mental health in a much more effective way. Thanks, Steven!
