I know how daunting this first step can be. Reaching out for help from a stranger can be very nerve-wracking. However, during our time together we will build a trusting and supportive relationship, one that you may find solace in. I work with clients from all backgrounds and I offer support for adults and young people. I support clients with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, trauma, relationship breakdowns, bereavement, self-harm, family conflict, women’s cultural issues, eating disorders and anger management. I am highly experienced in working within the south asian community.

I currently work part time for Better Help as my full time role is working within Secondary schools. I provide trauma therapy and work with children and young people on breaking down barriers to achieve positive mental and physical health. In addition to this, I run my own private practice part time where I see clients in person and online.

As a person-centred therapist I work in a humanistic way with a solution focused approach. Person-centred is one of the humanistic modalities of therapy. It was founded in the 1940's by American psychologist Carl Rogers who believed that given the right conditions, a person can reach their full potential and become their true self, which he termed ‘self-actualisation’. This actualisation process is innate and accessible to everyone.

To help you achieve self-actualisation, I offer you:

Unconditional positive regard (UPR) – accepting and valuing you

Congruence - being honest and transparent in how I experience you and your world

Empathic understanding – seeing your viewpoint as if I were you

For me, therapy is not about changing your past, but your future.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
