Hi there, I'm Megan, a Credentialed Clinical Mental Health Therapist (AMHSW) with over a decade of experience. I am genuinely passionate about supporting adults as they navigate anxiety and depression. My areas of focus include holistic mental health, trauma recovery, relationship dynamics, stress management, exploring life purpose, and enhancing overall wellness. I aim to create a friendly and welcoming space where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and feelings. Together, we will work towards your goals. I firmly believe in the power of collaboration to bring about meaningful and lasting positive changes in your life, and I'm excited to partner with you on this journey!

My Integrative Approach

In my practice, I blend various techniques tailored to your needs.

I use evidence-based methods, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), alongside more creative approaches like Expressive Arts and Narrative therapy. We also explore mind-body therapies, including meditation, nature therapy, breathwork, and somatic movement. This holistic approach enables us to examine all aspects of your mental health and well-being. Together, we will find the methods that feel right for you!

Core Values and Philosophy

I believe in the importance of confidentiality, trust, and personal choice. My approach is holistic, which means I view each person as a whole and recognise the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. Instead of just treating symptoms, I focus on uncovering the root causes of any imbalances to help promote true well-being.

A Glimpse into My Qualifications:

I'm originally from the Pacific Northwest in the United States, but I now reside in Australia. I hold a Master's degree in Adult Mental Health (MSW) from the University of Southern California. Additionally, I am an experienced Coach and Reiki teacher, and I am also trained in film production.

I cherish learning and actively participate in continuing professional development (CPD) to enhance my skills both as an individual and as a practitioner. I am currently exploring the world of somatic movement and yoga therapy, continually striving to incorporate the latest and most effective techniques into my practice.

In my free time, I enjoy writing haiku poetry, photography, and deepening my practice. I have a passion for esoteric studies, including Jungian archetypes, the hero's journey, indigenous earth-based spirituality (the Medicine Wheel), and Vedic astrology.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
