Hi! I'm Jo. You’ve already taken a brave first step just by being here.
I specialise in trauma, abuse, neurodiversity, loss, and the experience of feeling disconnected - from yourself, from others, or from the world around you. If you’re carrying the weight of past experiences - living with C-PTSD, PTSD, abuse, depression, low self-esteem or the scars of a difficult childhood - it can feel overwhelming. Trauma can leave you feeling as though you don’t quite belong, carrying emotions of shame, betrayal, hypervigilance or disconnection. It may also make trusting others or building close, meaningful relationships feel painfully out of reach.
You might also be moving through grief: the loss of a loved one, a pet, a friendship, a job, a milestone, or the heartbreak of a relationship ending. Perhaps you’re adjusting to an ADHD or Autism/ASC/ASD or Giftedness diagnosis, or are still on that journey, wondering what it means for your identity. Or maybe you’re facing the daily struggles of chronic pain or illness and find yourself wondering if there is any light left beyond the storm clouds.
Therapy is more than just talking. It’s about gently uncovering patterns, exploring the feelings that weigh heavily, and finding new ways to respond that feel healing and empowering. Sometimes the shifts are small, sometimes they’re life-changing - but each step can bring you closer to yourself. Together, we’ll explore the protective strategies you’ve developed along the way, and discover which
ones still serve you - and which ones you’re ready to let go of.
If you’re here, reading these words, it’s because something inside you is searching for understanding, for healing, for someone to walk alongside you with care and compassion. I want you to know you don’t have to carry this alone. I would be honoured to hold that safe space for you and accompany you on your therapeutic journey.
My approach combines empathy, warmth, and a personalised way of working that’s tailored to your unique needs. Alongside traditional talking therapy, I offer creative, art-based approaches to support emotional expression and healing - especially when words feel hard to find. Creativity can be a powerful tool for self-discovery, grounding, and reconnecting with parts of yourself that may feel lost or silenced.
With both professional training as I’m a qualified counsellor and therapeutic art coach with an MSc in Psychology, and lived experience, I provide a safe, inclusive space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and supported. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for change, I’ll walk alongside you. Together, we’ll create a space where you can explore, heal, and grow - at your own pace, and in your own way.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
