Hello!

My name's Jacqueline, I’m a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. I’ve spent years working with people of a wide range of cultural backgrounds, ages, and neurodiversity. I've particularly worked a lot with children, young people, and parents/carers. I have also spent some time living overseas and thus have personal experience and understanding of issues surrounding migration.

My approach is grounded in:

- Deep respect.

- Trauma informed, and attachment-rich practise.

- Systemic family therapy principles.

Sometimes it can be hard to know where to begin, or to know whether you really need therapy. I believe that everyone could benefit from therapy, to better understand themselves, their own story, which can then impact their relationships with others. How many sessions you have is completely up to you. My goal is to create a space that feels safe; a chance to hit pause, and to reflect.

My approach is primarily influenced by the following types of therapies:

- Person-Centered Therapy

- Narrative Therapy

- Systemic Family Therapy

- Psychodynamic psychotherapy

- Internal Family Systems Therapy

- Solutions Focused Therapy

- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
