I am licensed in Sydney. Hi, I’m Irinah Jurkowski. I’m an exceptionally skilled and engaging counsellor with over 15 years of professional experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges. I’m an accredited Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers, and member of the Australian Counselling Association and I’ve spent much of my career in private practice helping people from all walks of life.

My approach to counselling is collaborative and compassionate. I create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, respected, and supported. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, abuse, & depression. Together, we explore the thoughts, feelings, and experiences that may be shaping your current situation, and I share practical strategies to help you make positive, lasting changes. My goal is to help you strengthen your self-awareness, build confidence, and create more fulfilling relationships and life experiences.

I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including short term Solution Focused Therapy and I integrate depth-oriented and exploratory approaches including Psychoanalysis, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Gestalt Therapy.

I am a PACT Level 2 qualified Couple Counsellor. I work with couples to move past anger, disconnection, and loneliness, and to rediscover closeness and intimacy in their relationship. I have experience working with coping with life changes. I work with couples to repair trust, improve communication, and strengthen their emotional intimacy with each other. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

I am trained in the Richards Trauma Process (TRTP). I work effectively in addressing childhood and other forms of trauma.
